We do like to fix bugs if they turn up! This updated version of the WebCrossing server fixes a bug we found involving the lookup of non-node Stored objects in WebCrossing Server-side JavaScript (SSJS). If you are using Stored.lookup(id) or Node.lookup(id) to locate Stored objects which are not nodes, this ensures that existing Stored objects are found, and deleted Stored objects properly return a null value.
Don’t have any idea what this means? That’s ok. We think you get the general idea that this is a good upgrade to have because it means preventing problems and even possible crashes. No matter how rare, you might as well play it safe! Even if you are not doing custom development, it’s a good idea to upgrade to make sure you have all the latest fixes, optimizations and feature enhancements.
The latest release version is now WebCrossing 6.4-1325 2016-11-01.
We will be upgrading all hosted customers, and coordinate upgrade timing as needed.
All self-hosted customers with valid support and maintenance contracts can download this new version at no cost.
If you are running a self-hosted site we strongly recommend upgrading your WebCrossing server to this new build. If you are a self-hosted customer and have a valid support and maintenance contract, please contact support for access to the new server. If your support and maintenance contract has expired, please contact us to renew so we can provide you with this important update.
